A Shloshim Siyum was held in Lakewood last week for Hayeled Shmuel Gellis A”H, the young boy tragically Niftar last month.
Shmuel’s father, R’ Moshe, thanked all who have been there for him and his family, helping them cope with this tragic event.
“I thank everyone for helping and sharing in the pain,”R’ Moshe told TLS.
Immediately following the tragedy, a campaign was launched for a Sefer Torah in his name, and $100,000 was raised in just a few days.
In honor of the Shloshim, the family now seeks to establish a night Kollel in Lakewood in his memory.
“As we mark the Shloshim of our son Shmuel A’h, help us reach our goal in establishing a Kollel in his name – a beis medrash where baalabatim and avreichim will toil in limud hatorah side by side, night after night, to the light of Torah,” said R’ Moshe. “We will call it “Ner Shmuel” – in memory of a soul so pure (after Shmuel ben Moshe Eliyahu and Batsheva להבדל”ח).

Absolutely amazing and really beautiful! How the Gellis family took a gut wrenching tzar and selflessly refocused it to lift the community and really, the entire klal. May the family have a huge nechama and hear only good things.
