Rabbi Avi Schnall: Dear Friends, There were some new developments within the New Jersey Legislature yesterday. Senate Bill S3080, a supplemental appropriation of $11.3 million for non-public school security aid, was introduced in both the Assembly and the Senate.
This bill would increase the per-pupil security funding from $75 to $150 per child. While security funding for public schools is still far ahead of the funding for their non-public counterparts, this bill creates a greater level of parity for all students, regardless of the schools they attend.
The Agudah would like to thank the primary sponsors of the bill, Assemblyman Gary Schaer, Senator Vin Gopal, and Senator Joseph Lagana.
Assemblyman Schaer, who introduced the identical bill in the Assembly, Bill A4597, has been at the forefront of the non-public school security funding initiative since its inception at $25 per pupil, has spearheaded the efforts to raise the funding to $75, and is continuously promoting the increase of the program.
Senators Gopal and Lagana have taken the initiative to introduce the bill in the Senate, working to improve the safety and security of all New Jersey students.
Agudath Israel encourages our constituents to express their appreciation for those who work on our behalf.

The Agudah will be actively advocating for the progression of this bill, and we’ll be calling upon your support and involvement as it moves through the legislative process.
Thank you for your support and have a great Shabbos,
Avi Schnall
This is a good idea as long as they hire actual police officers from the towns the schools are in. No rent a cops
