  1. Hmmm,
    Pretty cryptic.
Sounds like some deliberate non-committal reply.
Can be interpreted to mean that the vaccines should be removed from from the presence of the children.

  2. I am a Belz parent. This letter came a long with a note that under the direction of the Rebbe, the school & Yeshiva will no longer accept any religious exemptions.

  3. To understand the Rebbe, let’s look at the Posuk

The Posuk talks about the big Tzorah that befell…, Even after the ARBAH would have eaten everything.. (Malbim) The Novie gives us a way to save ourselves from starvation. And He says, Blow shofer in Tzion, make a fast day, gather the nation, gather the elders, and also gather the very young, even the nursing child and choson and Kallah. all of them should participate in the fast… he Kohanim should cry out in the bais Hamikdosh, that Hashem should have mercy on his nation….
The Novie, ensures us if we do this Hashem will then answer with great blessings…

what we take out from this Posuk, that when klal Yisroel is B’achdus, Fasting and begging Hashem together, so much so to even have the little nursing children (who never sinned) refrain from nursing causing them pain and anguish, so they also cry out TOGETHER with the Adults (the sinners), WE ARE GUARANTEED to a Yeshuah

Perhaps the rebbe is hinting to the following 2 things:

    1. Not to make a machlokes (Machlokes causes is much greater physical and mental harm to our community than not vaccinating)

    2. Those who don’t vaccinate; should perhaps join in with the Rabbim (99%) and vaccinate (even though they feel it is not beneficial, and/or may have a small chance of being harmful). Doing this will be equivalent to the nursing babies who were forced to stop nursing even though there was a chance it may be a bit harmful to some babies. we needed to have everyone in the tzar of the fast… The Novie tells us, the benefit of having all klal yisroel being Mishtateif in the fast AS ONE, causes great yeshous for us. (Perhaps that’s part of what he meant)

  4. Are you really a parent in the Belz Cheder and could you please scan a copy of the letter you got from the school and send it to TLS so it could be published for us all to see?

The question asked to the Rebbe was not about if schools can keep unvaxed kids home. The question to the the Rebbe was is it the correct thing for parents to give shots to their kids? The Rebbes answer seems to be to keep shots out of schools, which I would think means that the Rebbe is not paskening anything specific to shots just suggesting to keep shots out of the schools probably meaning don’t make this an issue.

Like another commentor said earlier, it seems this can go either way which is why it would be helpful to see the letter you say came from the school

    • so the Rebbe is saying
      Yaytzay – send out
      Chosun – shots
      Maychadoro – from your schools
So now we have a Rebbe saying those with shots should be sent home???????

  5. So the Rebbe replied with a remez – Let’s try to translate this:

    “Isfu olelim v’yonkei shodayim” –
“Gather all the children and even little babies”

    “Yaitzai ‘chosun’ m’chadroi” –
“The ‘immunized’ should get out of his room”

Hmmm how exactly is this a Yes?

Rather looks like the Rebbe didn’t want to get involved in this (smart choice).

If he’d have a clear opinion on it, he’d probably give a clear answer – yes or no.

  6. Pls explain how you see this can go either way?

His title is the answer- ‘To give Vaccinations to all Children’

What is there not to be clear about?

  7. Obviously it means…

Gather all your Children and Babies (to the doctor) and they should all leave the room (doctors office) vaccinated!!

    Thank You

  8. Clearly the Rebbe Shlita didn’t want anyone to know the answer to teh question. Why are we trying to figure out the answer, contrary to his holy wishes.

  9. I dont get it. A clear psak needs to be given. NOT remazim. Why doesnt someone just go to rav Chaim Kanievsky shlita and ask Yes or No to vaccinate. Isnt this a case of pekuach nefesh for some? How about rav Dovid Feinstein? Satmar, Bobov, Viznitz,????
I have great respect for the Rebbe but I dont get this.

    • Rav Moshe Meir Weiss in this past weeks headlines podcast quoted Rav Dovid (and Rav Reuven) Feinstein that you should be vaccinated.

On the same podcast they interviewed the Dr from KJ and he says just about everyone does vaccinate. That is why KJ bli ayin hora has not been effected by this outbreak.

I do not understand why you even need a Haskamah from a Rav? 99.9999% of the Dr’s say to vaccainate.

I guess Lakewood and the BMG leadership want to back to the “good old days” with measels and who knows what else.

  10. A few points…

First off, belz is a relatively”modern” chasidus and it’s a no brainer that the ruv (yes, in belz it’s a ruv not a rebbe) is pro vaccination

This is what happens when litvaks try to decipher a chasidishe letter. By rebbes the point is not the meaning in the pasuk, it’s just a remez that the posuk mentions children and a word that can mean vaccination in the same pasuk. That’s enough to mean: do it!

Also, I don’t understand the bearing of this letter on the rest of the Lakewood community, did you also post his letter when he said women shouldn’t drive? This is a letter to his chasidim only (and btw, I am a vaxxer, all my children are vaccinated and I’m not trying to imply that you should not. Just don’t use a letter that has no bearing on you)
