There has been a recent rise in vehicle burglaries in Lakewood – particularly from vehicles left unlocked, Lakewood Police Chief Greg Meyer tells The Lakewood Scoop.
Over the past few weeks, numerous vehicles were burglarized in Lakewood, with the burglar(s) in some incidents making off with cash, credit cards and other valuables left inside the vehicles.
“Remember to lock your car doors and never leave valuables inside,” Chief Meyer says. “Before going to sleep at night, take the extra minute to check your vehicle doors – as well as your home doors and windows.”

On a separate note, Chief Meyer is also reminding you not to park your vehicles on leaf piles as they could ignite and set your vehicle on fire.

These car burglaries are well publicized. Why are people still keeping cash and credit cards in UNLOCKED vehicles? I can’t imagine there are that many forgetful adults in Lkwd.
