Lakewood DPW clarifies leaf cleanup schedule changes

Many residents had questions regarding the revised leaf pickup schedule in Lakewood.

TLS reached out to the DPW for clarification.

Leaf season officially started on October 30th and will endĀ December 29th. During this time, there will be no citizen request for leaf pick up. Instead the Lakewood Township Department of Public Works will be doing leaf pick up by zone.

The following explains the changes:

Leaf trucks will still follow the bulk pick up schedule. It will go by week and zone together.

For example, the first week in November, leaf pick up will be in the zone 1 area for that entire week. Same for zones 2, 3, and 4.

If they are able to finish the entire zone before the end of the week, they will get an early start for the next zone. So please have your leaves to the curb before they get to your zone, otherwise you may have to wait an entire month before they can get back to your area.

  1. Can you please find out what the areas affected by the sunset road sewage pipe construction should do? We may not be able to blow our leaves into the street for a few more weeks. Thank you.
