VIDEO: Rabbi Reisman Responds: The Threat to our Chinuch

Rabbi Reisman, in a candid video released today by Agudas Yisroel, delivers a warning to Klal Yisroel about the danger facing our time-tested system of Chinuch. Warning that this will impact yeshivos and Bais Yaakovs across New York State, Rabbi Reisman calls the new Substantial Equivalency guidelines, “Draconian, outrageous, and immediate.” Watch this important video to see how this new gezeirah can affect your child, grandchild, nephew or niece.

  1. Thank you R Reisman! Beautifully said!
This is a very serious issue that if passed in NY could come to Lakewood. Plus they will start with the amount of time for secular studies and then the content. Daven daven daven!

  2. The Rav mentioned achdus between modern and yeshivishe etc.
Perhaps the non jews see us the same way we see non vaxxers, and the same way we jumped to kick them out of school more than the health department requires, the NY government is making the yeshivas provide more secular education than they provide the public school students.

    • I had concerns along these lines before this was publicized. By taking matters into the hands of humans, trying to completely control situations, we could lose siyatta dishmaya that comes with leaving things in Hashem’s control.

And by allowing governing bodies, medical and/or lawmaking, to affect decisions for our mosdos (i.e. whether to exclude non-vaccinated children), we open ourselves up to interventions by governing bodies that we all do not want.

  3. We are finding the exclusion of unvaccinated kids from school draconian as well. Maybe the 2 are connected. When jews turn against each other Hashem sends the goyim after us

  4. So why don’t we wake up and take Hashems message seriously?

TESHUVA IN THE MIDST OF ACHDUS TOG.
TESHUVA IN THE MIDST OF ACHDUS TOG.
TESHUVA IN THE MIDST OF ACHDUS TOG.

Is there any need to say more? Do we need to wait until things get so serious and our ruchnius and C”V our lives are in danger?

As we say goodbye to Chanukah let us act like the chashmonaim and stand up for Hashem and his Torah like they did by accepting Hashems message seriously TESHUVA.

  5. You don’t cause problems by following Daas Torah. The problems come when you think you’re smarter than rabbinim.

The Psak of the vast majority of Gedolim (practically all) is that vaccinations are mandatory, and most say that school exclusion is a must. That’s not draconian – that’s Daas Torah. If anything, it’s those who shun Daas Torah and continue to insist that their personal research takes precedence over the Daas Rov Poskim – only they can be blamed (if anyone) for causing issues in Klal Yisroel.

(Disclaimer: if your personal rov holds not to vaccinate, then perhaps (only perhaps- he’s still a Daas yochid) you would be able to justify your failure to vaccinate. (Although your child’s exclusion is also justified – the school administrator is also following his Daas Torah). However, if you cherrypick a rov who agrees with your self-studied conclusions, you are in violation of Daas Torah and are undoubtedly creating trouble for yidden.)
