PHOTOS: In Honor of 3rd Anniversary, Gourmet Glatt Dedicates New Hatzolah Fly Car

We’ve all seen it. A dedicated Hatzolah member dropping everything and running to help someone in need. We marvel at the dedication and compassion and whisper a quiet tefillah that all turn out ok. There is nothing we value more as a community than life itself, and these dedicated Hatzolah members save lives on a daily basis.

Hatzolah’s ability to respond as a moments notice is remarkable. Their average 90 second response time is made possible by members’ devotion, strategically located vehicles and a lot of siyata dishmaya.

As our community has grown and continues to grow, so has the call volume for Hatzolah and the strain on existing resources. Gourmet Glatt, one of our community’s leading supermarket became aware of this concern, and in honor of their third anniversary, decided to donate a new fly car to Hatzolah’s fleet. This new fly car will be stationed to increase the response time for the Toms River community and surrounding areas.

“Gourmet Glatt appreciates the warmth the community has shown us over the past three years and we very much want to give back,” says R’ Zecharia Jakobovits, Gourmet Glatt’s Manager, “there is nothing more meaningful than partnering with Hatzolah to provide critical life-saving services to our community.”

Gourmet Glatt has a long history of giving back to the communities it serves, not only in Lakewood but in Boro Park and the Five Towns too. Gourmet Glatt has consistently shown its support of our communities organizations and is dedicated to continuing to do so. “We are not just a business, we are part of the community,” explains R’ Zecharia, “our customers are our neighbors, family and friends and we want to do what we can to show our appreciation and give back.”

“It is inspiring, and touching that our community has caring and committed friends like Gourmet Glatt,” shared Rabbi Avrohom Waxman, Hatzolah’s Director of Development,“ we are very excited that this fly car will finally be put into service and save lives.”

An official ribbon cutting ceremony will be held in the near future, stay tuned to TLS for the latest details.

  1. A fly car is a car used by ambulance services to get paramedics to the scene but the car doesn’t transport patients to the hospital – an ambulance responds as well and handles the transport
    It improves response time
