Agudah NJ Director Rabbi Avi Schnall is asking the public to urge Governor Murphy to include funding for the FY2020 Nonprofit Security Grant.
“Two years ago, with the support of Agudath Israel and others, New Jersey enacted a state-level nonprofit security grant program, independent of the federal nonprofit security grant,” says Rabbi Schnall. “The bill approved $1 million in individual grants of up to $10,000 to enhance security at nonprofit institutions. However, each year, these grants need to be renewed and included in the state budget in order to receive funding.”
“As Governor Murphy is currently formulating his state budget proposal, it is important that we reach out and encourage him to include this much-needed security grant. A recently enacted law expanded the uses of the grant to include both target hardening and security personnel.
In response to this very welcome expansion, Agudath Israel is urging Governor Murphy to allocate $1 million to each of these uses and double the funding of the program to $2 million. Please add your voice to this effort and let the governor know how much this security funding means to our community.”
In light of what the government is mandating in NY schools, hour about we wake up and start realizing that we don’t want the grants not the mandates that come along with it. Lo miukzaich velo meduvshaich
