Because It Takes A Town

[COMMUNICATED] Lakewood as a community has embraced the mission of Bonei Olam. The power of an entire town invested in the chesed of not letting any couple who dreams of parenthood slip through the cracks has helped us achieve miracles. The power of a rabbim working for each yachid has given Bonei Olam the resources needed to leave no cry unanswered. The power of a city attuned to the pain of others and actively involved in healing that pain has empowered our organization to respond to all challenges thrown our way.

It truly takes a town to accomplish what we have been able in the past twenty years here in Lakewood and beyond. Bonei Olam has been blessed through the years with special individuals who have stepped forward and represent the wishes of the community at large. This upcoming dinner we honor the entire Lakewood community as whole and are privileged to single out those special people who work tirelessly on behalf of all of us.

There is a common thread running through our list of honorees. They are ‘Klal Mentschen’, selfless people who have placed the interests of others as higher priority than their own.

Mr. and Mrs. Yaakov Klugman are the recipients of the aptly named “Building Worlds” award. A builder of sterling repute here in Lakewood,  R’ Yaakov is engaged in more than brick and mortar. He is a builder of people, of kindness and of caring. He truly builds worlds.

We honor Mr. and Mrs. Binyomin Mandlebaum with the Hakoras Hatov award. Touched by all that know him, R’ Binyomin is invested in the well-being of strangers and friends alike- with heart, passion and love of his fellow Jew. He is revered by all who know him and so deserving of our Hakoras Hatov.

Mr. and Mrs. Tzvi Rosen are our Bonei Olam awardees. R’ Tzvi is known throughout our community for his big heart. Always available, with an ear attuned to the plight of anyone who needs a shoulder to lean on and a partner to all that we do here at Bone Olam. He is a champion of those without a voice and a source of endless inspiration to us here at Bonei Olam.

Mr. and Mrs. Sruly Singer will receive the “Oseh Chesed” award. It is never about him, always about someone else.  With a smile that warms an entire room, his ability to connect with people from all walks of life and a genuine desire to lift up all who come in contact with him, R’ Sruly is the quintessential Oseh Chesed.

We recognize Rabbi and Mrs. Duvid Mashinsky as our Bonei Olam Partner. R Duvid is a mechanech who lives to  build up children. His dedication to his talmidim is legendary, and his commitment to helping them grow is his greatest joy. He is for our community and for Bonei Olam a shining example of listening, communicating and assisting. He is a true partner.

This March 11th in  Lake Terrace we take great pride in honoring these special couples and honoring the whole of our singular city. We would not be here without them and without all of you.

Bonei Olam.

It takes a Town.
