New Jersey has joined fifteen other states in suing President Trump over his national emergency declaration. The lawsuit claims that Trump’s emergency declaration does not fit the standards of the National Emergencies Act, making Trump’s unilateral use of funds via emergency, illegal.
New Jersey’s Attorney General Gurbir Grewal said he chose to have New Jersey join the lawsuit in order to defend the immigrant communities of New Jersey. Grewal, the son of Indian immigrant’s, said “As the chief law enforcement officer, I have a duty to stand up for New Jersey’s resident – including our immigrant community”.
Calling President Trump’s constant bemoaning of the illegal immigration issue in the United States a “manufactured crisis”, Grewal said that Trump’s use of federal dollars without Congressional approval is illegal and is keeping much-needed funds away from vital programs, including anti-narcotics efforts and improving military installations.
The lawsuit is being led by California’s Attorney General, Xavier Beccera, who has been joined by New Jersey’s Attorney General, as well as those from Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Nevada, New Mexico, New York, Oregon, and Virginia.
During his announcement of the emergency declaration, President Trump acknowledged that many Democrats would attempt to sue him over the move, but said he’s confident that he would win in court. Trump’s plan is to use some $8 billion, most of that not approved by Congress, to build a barrier along the southern border. It is not yet clear what impact the lawsuit will have on Trump’s ability to actually direct the funds to those responsible for building the wall.

This has nothing to do with the illegal alien community criminals that our attorney general is protecting because the funds will be used to build a wall which wont affect any illegal alien currently in the US. So how about our attorney general stop wasting taxpayer money on fighting the President because he dislikes him.
I agree the Attorney General in New Jersey and across United States should not go against Trump. They should focus on their issues and problems in their states. Trump is right about the wall. Democratic is trying hurt Trump because they dislike him . This is a huge mistake they are making. Vote for Trump 2020
How does this benefit the taxpayers of NJ? Is the AG against stopping illegal drugs and criminals or illegal aliens from entering the country? I she opposed to national sovereignty?

How about we “move” the wall from California to another place that wants it. First lets see if the Democrats scream to keep the wall, remember they are a sanctuary state and all illegals are welcome. Then watch the crime rate and the State budget go up.
A wall won’t fix anything, can you not see that. As long as there is demand for illegal drugs in the US, traffickers will always find a way, maybe work on a program to rehab all the people that need it so desperately, that will help even more than a wall. A lot of those illegals that you criticize so much are only trying to run from the violence and crime that drug trafficking created, drugs that ended up where? but nobody seems to see that. Maybe if their living conditions weren’t so awful they wouldn’t feel the need to come here where they are not even welcome.

The issue is that there is a limit on how many immigrants a country can absorb at one time. the U.S. already accepts 1 million LEGAL immigrants annually, more than any other country, and more than the entire E.U. this does not even include those with H1B and other work visas.
Long term, immigrants can be a benefit to a country, but there is a short term cost, and it is very expensive to taxpayers and a strain on social services. That is why, even pro-immigrant countries, like the U.S. cap the amount of immigrants allowed in annually. In order too insure that the country can successfully absorb those who do come here.
Yes immigrants are leaving their home countries for better conditions, but by the latest analyses, there are over 100 million people in Central and South America alone who want to come here. Not to mention most of the population of India, China and many other countries.
A nation, has to protect the interests of its citizens first. Real wages have been stagnant for 2 decades due to the unlimited inflow of illegal immigrants and massive abuse of the H1B visa program. ESL students are over-burdening school districts nationwide, and have caused massive tax increases, and the cutting of many programs that schools used to offer.
It is not about blaming the illegal immigrants, people will do what is best for them and their families. however, that does not absolve politicians from the responsibilities they have to the citizens of this country,

I have nothing against Immigration, provided the immigrants in question are law-abiding. When they can’t even respect the rules enough to emigrate here ‘the legal way’, it does not exactly inspire confidence in the idea that they’ll be law-abiding, and productive members of American society.
As a taxpayer, I’m sick of seeing the quality of life declining for most Americans, while we continue to subsidize the costs of providing free benefits for people who are violating the law by being here in the first place.
Crime is crime.
When ILLEGAL ALIENS come here, they are not screened for their criminal backgrounds or communicable diseases, which poses an obvious risk to the health and safety of the general public.
To me, these risks are unacceptable.
They are wasting NJ taxpayers’ money!
