Lakewood Mayor Ray Coles responds to your ‘Ask The Mayor’ questions: Chestnut and New Hampshire Ave
The following is an ‘Ask The Mayor’ question submitted to TLS, and the Mayor’s response. Email your questions for the Mayor to AskTheMayor@thelakewoodscoop.com.
Question:
Hi,
Driving down Chestnut in the morning, toward New Hampshire, there is always a long line of cars waiting to turn left onto New Hampshire. I do not have any suggestions for that, but for cars turning right onto New Hampshire, the long wait can be fixed by eliminating the wide shoulder, so the cars turning right can pass the long line of cars.
Moshe
Response from Mayor Coles:
The county is working with the state to redesign this intersection as well as the intersection of N. Hampshire & 70. I will pas this along to the engineering office to make sure it is considered.
Thank you
