One person was seriously injured in a six-car pileup accident in Lakewood, police tell TLS.
The accident occurred at the Lakewood-Brick border on Cedarbridge Avenue.
Lakewood’s Extrication Team was requested to the scene for one person stuck in a vehicle.
The area has been shut.

UPDATE: The driver who was extricated from the vehicle was transported to Jersey Shore Universal Medical Center.
UPDATE: Officials tell TLS the accident was apparently caused by a DUI driver driving in the opposite lane of travel.
I was at the scene. There were 10-15 vehicles involved in the accident, not 6.
6-7 that were actually involved is correct. I watched it happen. The extra vehicles were witnessess and bystanders. This was the most horrifying thing I’ve ever watched. I was behind the last vehicle hit head on. I thought it was gonna be me but it wasnt in my cards…… Counting my blessings, I need a lottery ticket!
