In response to residents looking to help a young Lakewood woman who was scammed out of nearly all her money, we set up a page, and the outpouring of support was tremendous.
Within 24 hours of losing nearly all her money, the money was back in her account – graciously donated by dozens of donors.
Some gave $5, some gave $10, and some hundreds of dollars – but it’s the Ahavas Yisroel that counts.
A goal of $8,100 was set – the amount she lost to the scammer.
In addition, after reading that she had no job, a local business-owner reaches out to TLS to offer her a job!
Mi K’amcha Yisroel.

I bet the ‘HATERS’ are skipping this story.
What a beautiful example of Ahavas Yisroel. Reading the article and seeing the donations brought tears to my eyes. We have proven once again that when the need arises our community is so united! מי כעמך ישראל
It’s refreshing to read that so many came together to help this young lady.
Wow! Mi keamcha yisroel!
Wow is all I can say. What a wonderful/beautiful thing to do. You all are lucky and blessed to have each other.
That is why I would not make any payments over the phone for security
reasons.
