Yes, Hashem runs the world: getting yourself vaccinated can be part of your hishtadlus to stay healthy, but coercing and excluding fellow yidden is in no way part of our hishtadlus.

3. Imagine if they would not have gotten any vaccine, and gotten measles as a child of 5-12 years old, when most people got it before vaccination. All these complications would most likely not have occurred.

   • My mother, mother-in-law, and quite a few others who I asked when this fear of measles was being instilled into us back in October, those who lived through the time when EVERYONE they knew got measles – EVERYONE. And not one had complications. They were not scared of measles like they were scared of polio. It was considered a benign childhood illness that was part of life.

     Today, babies and adults are getting measles R”L. Babies and adults are more prone to complications from measles than school-age children. Before the vaccine, it was unheard of for a baby to get measles since it was born to a mother who had actual measles and gave over a strong immunity to her newborn, strong enough for it to last long enough to pass the danger zone. Before the vaccine, it was rare for an adult to get measles, because they already got it as a child.

     • in the 60s almost all kids got measles. It was considered a normal part of childhood. We kids were happy to stay home and get presents!! Also, in athe 60s the doctors came to our house. Sick kids were not expected to go to doctor’s offices and wait in the waiting room with other sick kids.

9. In 2017 there were over 110,000 deaths from Measles globally, mostly children under 5. Pre-vacinne there were 2.6 million deaths annually.

   Vaccinations do have some minor complications and in the extremely rare case, typically an anaphylactic reaction, a major one. However, not getting vaccinated is statistically much more dangerous.

   Measles was declared eliminated from the US in 2,000 but is now back. If the anti-vaxxer movement grows, Chas V’shalom, we can expect to see the return of a host of other viruses including Diphtheria, Hepatitis A & B, Malaria, Meningitis, Mumps, Polio, Rotavirus, Smallpox and whooping cough.

   If you trust your doctor to treat you for cancer or to cut you open for a required surgery, trust your doctor about prevention: Get Vaccinated!

10. Noach, those numbers are GLOBALLY. Yes manourised children with AIDS will have major complications from any illness. In western countries, the risk of measles deaths is so incredibly rare. Please don’t keep spreading hysteria.

Specifically can you address the 58,000 vaccine injuries reported to the cdc during 2018 and the Harvard medical study that concluded that number represents less than 1% of actual injuries.

No one has studied the safety of the ingredients and excipients in the MMR vaccine, which include: chick embryo cell culture, WI-38 human diploid lung fibroblasts, vitamins, amino acids, fetal bovine(cow) serum, sucrose, glutamate, recombinant human albumin (blood), neomycin, sorbitol, hydrolyzed gelatin, sodium phosphate, sodium chloride.

    2. Since 2010, Merck (manufacturers of the MMR) has been in a federal court case for lying about the efficacy of the mumps part of the vaccine. (This may explain all the mump epidemics in the US.) Can you trust the safety of the MMR when you hear the manufacturer committed fraud?

    3. Del Bigtree received the FDA’s MMR vaccine trial results (conducted in 1978) through the Freedom of Information Act. They compared this newer MMR vaccine to different vaccines associated with these three illnesses. You can find the video with the results by googling “Shocking MMR vaccine trial results released via FOIA.” Del shows through FDA documents that those children who got this vaccine had high rates of gastrointestinal illnesses and/or upper respiratory illnesses within 42 days of getting this trial vaccine.

    4. There are medical studies showing that children who get febrile childhood illnesses, such as measles and chickenpox, have lower rates of certain types of cancer later on in life. Maybe Hashem knew what He was doing with these childhood illnesses that for the most part did cause long-lasting effects nor death. Yes, some died from the measles but are more people now dying, or going to die, from certain cancers because their immune systems were not strengthened by these normal childhood illnesses?

    5. Live vaccines, such as MMR, can shed. St. Judes Hospital has a policy that those who have received live vaccines recently should not come to the hospital to visit patients. Although rare, there are cases of children who got the MMR vaccine and shortly thereafter came down with a vaccine-strain type measles. Go to the National Vaccine Information Center and search for an article called “The Emerging Risks of Live Virus and Virus Vectored Vaccines” to learn more about this topic.

    Don’t be afraid to do some research. The media, members of the AAP, FDA, and ACIP, etc. are tied to the pharma companies that produce the vaccines.

14. To clarify, when I wrote, “In the pre-vacinne US,” I was referring to the United States.

    Furthermore, in 1957 the United States had a population of just 172 Million compared with over 327 Million today. Global population in 1957 was 3 Billion compared with 7.7 today.

    Imagine a disease with 5 Million deaths annually! And that is just the measles.

    The biggest flaw in the anti-vaxxer movement is that they still seek professional medical advice for most everything OTHER than vaccinations. If you trust your doctor to delivery your baby, treat an infection, prescribe chemo & radiation therapy for oncology patients, psychiatric drugs for mental disorders and narcotics for pain; if you trust the medical industry to treat your illness you must also trust the medical industry to prevent illness.

    • Firstly, the biggest flaw in the pro-vaxxer movement is trust in anything or anyone other than Hashem.

      Secondly, I don’t trust my doctor, but I do go for diagnosis and treatment of an illness.

      Actually, a top of the line brain surgeon in a top of the line hospital where my son had surgery for a brain tumor (specifically, a glioma), has done research and studies and found that having chicken pox in childhood lowers the risk of developing a glioma! By up to 40%!

      I wish my son would have had chicken pox rather than the varicella vaccine and rather than a glioma! If you personally know anyone who had a brain tumor, you know, it is not a worthwhile tradeoff!

      Just a little more info: The dr. said that even though actual chicken pox lowers the risk of developing a glioma, the varicella vaccine does not have that effect because the specific proteins of the virus that are involved in lowering the risk of developing a glioma are not included in the varicella vaccine.

      This is not coming from the anti-vax movement. From a really top of the line brain surgeon.

15. You could basically thank the CDC for administrating an ineffective vaccine for your current complications. Had you gotten the measles as a kid (or had the CDC done some real research before administrating an ineffective vaccine to millions of people) all of the ‘complications’ that you suffered from would have almost certainly been eliminated.

    @Noah Klein dying from the measles is also incredibly rare. Until you are able to quantify how rare the side effects of vaccines are (and you can’t without double blind placebo controlled trials) how can you issue a blanket statement saying MMR is safer than getting the measles?

Maybe this should get you thinking that perhaps there’s something really wrong with vaccines? People are questioning the safety of vaccines because they or someone they know had adverse side effects. The reason the anti-vaxxer movement exists is because people (many people) have experienced adverse side effects from the vaccine.

16. I must say how very bothered I am by this video clip! First of all I live in Detroit and there was no education whatsoever. The only education was get a booster shot fast! There was absolutely no information aside from what the symptoms are and when not to go to the doctors office, hospital or urgent care clinic. Secondly what will happen in another 20 years from now when there is another outbreak? The vaccine does not work like they claim so you will then have a bunch of 80 year old people getting the measles (assuming they live that long from the last booster they had!). Better off getting it as a child and not having to worry about all of the complications that are possible in adults and then also having the benefit of passing on that immunity to your children! Please let hashem run the world and not the doctors and drug companies!!
