Authorities are investigating a body found in Toms River.

At approximately 11:28 AM, police units were dispatched to the south side of the Mathis Bridge for reports of a body floating in the water.

The female victim was found to be deceased upon police arrival. The Ocean County Sheriff Department CSI Unit, NJ State Police Marine Unit, and OC Medical Examiner also responded to the scene.

The investigation is ongoing at this time.
