  1. TO #3-
THE LCSW ARE NOT LAW ENFORCEMENT. THEY DONT HOLD PRIVATE DETECTIVE OR INVESTIGATOR LICENSES. THEY CANT PROSECUTE, NOR EVEN GET INVOLVED IN 3RD PERSON INVESTIGATIONS.
THEY HAVE NO MORE POWER THAN YOU OR ANY OTHER CIVILIAN.

  2. To to LCSW there already is a sign like that at the one on Rt. 70 in Lakewood. It’s not even worth saying all of the common sense comments ie., lock doors, bring items inside, etc. because no one will listen to them anyway. Common theft is a crime of opportunity. Walking down the road and their are ten bikes, strollers, etc. laying around is just to easy and just asking to be stolen. Im not saying it is right but thats how it happens.

  3. You wouldn’t leave the money that you paid for that stroller laying outside, unattended- would you? Common sense.
Don’t leave your stuff all over the place and you won’t have to learn your lesson the hard way. Lakewood is not Mayberry.

  4. Has anyone considered the fact that their true motives are to kidnap babies that are left unattended in strollers all over town, and taking the empty strollers could be a dry run? DO NOT LEAVE YOUR CHILDREN ALONE under any circumstance, even for a moment. We see that all too often when parents run into stores with the stroller and baby outside

  5. I asked my neighbor if the “rip stick” which was hanging on the outside of their fence (which is 3 feet from the road) was up for grabs? He looked at me sheepishly and said I don’t know my children must have left it there.
I looked at him with a pathetic look and told him i guess they don’t have parents who taught them what it means to sweat for a living.

That’s the whole point. THEY DIDN’T PAY FOR THEIR STROLLERS Their parents/in laws did. That’s why they have no sense of value of their posessions.

You must be a police officer that is worried that lcsw is taking your job like they did with that got who got arrested for the breakins.
LCSW to have the powers your talking about they give up their valuable time to be eyes and ears.
(Most officers respect lcsw guys its the ones that dont do their jobs that give them a hard time)

  8. Yup, have your parents buy you a bugaboo and leave it outside to show everyone how rich you are that you don’t even have to take care of your things, you’ll just get another one, You people are very sad. Don’t pay your tuition cuz you can’t afford it but get a $1000 + stroller and leave it outside to be rained on and stollen.

MR.C is right they have no power to take anyone in..they call LWPD in for that but the people leaving the stroller in the street should really think about putting the stuff away

  10. To BIG Z

THEY NEVER SAID THAY HAD THE POWER.

Who patrols the streets? Who staked out that house night after night trying to catch the animal that kept breaking in?
    LCSW DOES/DID

  11. You and a few other bloggers are always busy that LCSW has no power. You are trying to instigate a rift between the two, while they both respect each other.

  12. I live in coventry and my carriage got stolen last week, and. My friends kids bike got stolen too!!! I know I am at fault for leaving my carriage out over nite….. But I x think that I lived in harlem, now I’m rethinking!!!

  13. I have a stroller, 3 bikes & 2 cozy coops sitting on my lawn for the last week. Does anyone know how I can contact this thief so I can see my 3 square feet of lawn again?

  14. Coventry
Before you spend another thousand on ur “carriage” that you are willing to leave outside, maybe just pass the thousand bucks to me so I can pay my tuition.

  15. Always make a police report otherwise it`s as if it was never stolen. If we start making police reports on EVERY crime the police will have to add patrols and work harder, otherwise they will have bad resumès.

  16. You are still making it easy for anyone to walk by your houses and pick out what they want. I have driven around Lakewood at all hours of the day and night and there are toys and strollers all over the place..some left at the curbs some in a front yard. How many have to get taken before you start not making it easy for these crooks to take your stuff..You have to have some sort of responsibilities to your families. LCSW & Lakewood Pd can not do it all, they need your help too. They can not be everywhere all the time. Just a little help would be nice sometimes., locking your cars, and houses, keeping your kids toys and strollers either in the house or at least in a secure location at the house. Talk to your neighbors, see if they notice anyone lurking around at night. This is not a perfect town..none of them are..if you think moving here was so you could be safe in a semi large town of NJ you are wrong..the more you make yourself an easy target the more you will be the target. I applaud LCSW and the LPD for what they have done and continue to do..but Come ON help them out a little bit

  17. #20- you should have a police report done! That way if the police end up arresting someone w/this stolen property they know to contact you if they find a carriage that fits the description of yours. A friend of mine had the portable dvd players stolen out of her car b/c she didn’t lock it overnight. There was a rash of breakins in her neighborhood. When they found the person responsible they found all the stuff- he was going to sell it. She got her kids’ dvd players back!

  18. My son left his bike in front of our steps (which is not so close to the street, and during the day around 11am) and came in to grab a bite to eat and within a 1/2 hr of going back out, it was gone in broad daylight, right in front of our door. These theives have no sense of fear. They think it belongs to them if its left out. We did file a police report but its been 2 years so I guess its really gone. Someone just got lucky that day and rode off with a Schwinn!

  19. People should put their stuff away at night, but, to expect kids to lock up their bikes right in front of their homes every time they go inside for a drink is a little excessive. The fact is, it’s very sad that the town has come to this. We all have to be more vigilant and keep an eye on who is in the neighborhood and report any suspicious people hanging around.

  20. To anonymous
I ve got my own tuition to pay for!!!!!!!! And besides my carriage was no where near 1000$ prob just hit the 3 digit mark!

  21. That’s why there are stroller locks out there. I bought mine called the Buggyguard cable lock off of babies r us. It’s come in handy a few times especially at theme parks.

  22. I heard that the stroller was left by the curb and the couple mistaken it for trash so i agree witht he good goy and dont leave strollers, toys, etc. but the curb!
