In an effort to recoup some of their financial losses as a result of the overly successful Parnassah Expo, the board has decided to call a parlor meeting to help them to continue in their Avodas Hakodesh. The event coordinators say they not only were unable to break even from the event, but the program ran at a tremendous financial loss.
A parlor meeting will be held this evening, March 6, at the home of R’ Duvi Honig, 19 Arosa Hill, at 8:00 PM
Th event will be graced with Divrei Chizuk from HaRav Shmuel Blech.
“When you help someone find a Parnassah, you give them life, courage, and respect from family and friends as well”, says one of the coordinators.
All who donate to the organization $18 or more, will be entered into a raffle sponsored by Sparkles.

Many who came to last Sunday’s Expo looking for a job are already employed or being seriously considered for employment. However, the Expo’s huge success came with a price as there were no wealthy sponsors who believed the dream and no government grants. Many of the vendors could not even afford to pay for their tables. The Expo was conceived and brought to fruition by Reb Duvi Honig who now carries a $20,000 burden. Please show hakoros hatov for Duvi’s efforts and sincere devotion to the klal by coming to tomorrow’s parlor meeting or through https://www.fidelitypayment.com/learnandnetwork/ By doing so, you too will have a chelek in the incredible chizuk and tremendous Kiddush Hashem that took place last Sunday afternoon.
I definitely believe this was a wonderful event and we should all go and support it. But just like in shiduchim and even professional headhunters charge a fee for their service, I feel that those that benefited and found jobs and even the employers that got an employee should pay some type of donation. Obviously those that were out of jobs are probably in the hole but on the maaser on their paycheck they should try and send in something.
Employment agencies get big commissions, upwards of 10% of a years salary when they place people; so it would certainly seem if there are employers that benefit from the expo they should donate significantly.
Anonymous- I agree with you – I think though that ppl without jobs can afford even small donations too! We all manage to fish out $10 or so when we want to— I myself gave a small donation as well! Maybe one day I will be able to give a big one – but for now at least – if we all give small donations it adds up! And those that can afford more should give more!
1) you should give allot or a little
2) the parnassa org should try to use their branded name to make money
courses/sites/other courses should want to be on thier flier. its easier said than done.
Vendors didn’t have to pay to have a spot? nobody paid anything? please confirm…..
Big Question. Is there gonna be any food at this parlor meeting?

Everyone’s right. The employee/ers should pay s/thing. But it won’t be nearly enought. Think about the kiddush H-shem & the chizzuk. If s/one would’ve asked u, before any event that’ll be mechazek 5,000 ppl to be mishtatef, u would’ve said yes.
So, here too. This event was mechazek over 5,000 ppl. Let’s be mishtatef. End of story. Dudi Birnbaum
Why did you take down my comments?
or I should say why is it not being approved?
This tzedaka is of the most importance..bec if you support it generously you can wipe out the need for all the other tzedakas!!think of all the hundreds that have found jobs n have been helped..they now can pay there food bills ..tuitions etc..giving someone parnassah is the biggest form of tzedakah!!..@must I say that if u did find a job!!show ur hakoras hatov!!
How many jobs were found?
Do you have any idea how many 5000 people is? That hall cannot fit more than 600. The police report 5000 cars…ridiculous. How many name tags did they give out ? Wouldn’t that give a more accurate count. I was there for the duration of the expo…sevaral hundred people not thousands. Why do we need to blow this out of porportion to consider it successful?
5,000 throughout the course of the day, not at one time… I attended just for the last 45 minutes.
everyone should be mechazick
That hall can sit 600 or stand almost 1000 . So throughout the day it is possible that several thousand stopped by
Make sure those vendors & the people they hire, are actualy getting new jobs, not just taking away other people’s Parnoso. Unfortunatly there is a lot of that going on, some with heteirim, & some out right oni hamehapech & hasogas gvul, even with heteirim, there is still an aseih of Veohavta lerayacho Komoicho.
I understand that people are desperate, however the mishnah says al deateft atfuch, because you drown someone else you were droned, so what ends up happening is one loses the parnoso, the next one gets it & loses it again.
The first question one is asked in heaven is, if you did business honestly, with emunah, & that also means did you believe Hakodosh B”H gives parnoso, & don’t break shulchan aruch or the law of the land etc.
It is obviously very serious & not easy to answer, that is why it is first.
Btw there were over 7000 ppl there u count the resumes yurself!at 330 after womans hours there were 5000 cars !at the same time!cops wanted to close place down…besides ur forgetting the whole hall was used plus classrooms were filled..BH over 600 jobs were made..so ya!!support this kollel!!!!or ull be supporting everyone!
