[ADVERTORIAL – PHOTOS] Remembering Churban Europe in the 9 Days In the midst of our mourning period for the Churban Habayis. Lakewood’s Learn and Network will present a special “Zichron Churban Europe” evening to focus on our People’s most recent period of devastation.

On Wednesday, 6 Av (July 25th), at Bais Shaindel High School, Lakewood will hear live testimonials from two of the few remaining survivors of that precarious period.

Holocaust Survivor George Topas, author of the popular Holocaust book, The Iron Furnace:

Mr. Topas will talk of some of his gripping experiences escaping six labor camps, including the infamous Majdanek camp.

Holocaust Liberator.

Another speaker featured is Anthony Morrone, a New Jersey resident of Italian-American descent, will relate some of his experiences as an American troop who helped liberate the Buchenwald concentration camp. Mr. Morrone has spoken of the “unbelievable sight” throughout his life and recently held an emotional reunion with one of the men he liberated, noted survivor and author Elie Wiesel.

Remembering destroyed sifrei kodesh – See with your own eyes.

Noted Sofer Rabbi Tzvi Chaim Pincus of Tiferes Stam in Brooklyn will deliver a fascinating historical rundown of some of the Holocaust’s least talked about holy sacrifices: Sifrei Kodesh. He will be bringing with him artifacts that will give you the chills.

  1. anyone here Want Mashiach to come?
there are many reasons why mashiach is not here yet i will just mention one main factor in yiddishkeit which has to do with this.

in yiddishkeit, if a person wants something (be it a livlihood, shidduch or child ec…) s/he needs to do more then jut daven & say tehillim, the person needs to also YEARN for it-sadly- in todays society we are living in, we are not YEARNING for the bais Hamikdosh, we have everything from planes to cars & computers etc… even the gift of Shabbos for Gashmius to sleep & relax etc… HASHEM SAYS come back to me-my children, klal yisroel-& ask me for something fom your HEART & i will give you whatever you want (i’m sre if your child came to you for something you would get it, why wouldn’t you? the love between a parent & child is unlimited…. & thats the way Hashem loves EACH & EVERY ONE OF US)

All of us have heard, read & seen tons of true stories of people who had their first child at 42 or had a sick child in critical condition, & then the doctor says i’m very sorry but your daughter has only 3 hours to live & then he comes back 2 hours later & says its really a miracle but your child is beginning to recover etc…. Why is it that they finally had a child & the child recovered? There could be tons of answers, but the most common answer Is a Pasuk we say 3 times a day in Davening. Hashem is close to all who call to him, to all who call out truthfully. (Tehillim 145)Because they cried out from their heart, they really meant what they were saying when they davened to H-shem to have a baby or for his daughter to recover etc…. theres a reason we call Hashem, Avinu She’bashamayim (our father in heaven) Hashem loves us from a father to a son, & is waiting to put his Shchina (presence) & his bais hamikdosh back in this world BUT we just don’t seem to be ready. If we really cried out for the Bais Hamikdosh from our heart with truth & show that we are missing it, then we wouldn’t still be in Golus today.

    MAY MASHIACH COME ASAP

  2. i think these are the events that everyone should attend to. i feel like in this country we are not focused enough and dont teach enough about the second world war. I am from europe and my history teacher was a zadik that came on cruches because he went through the camps. told us stories of how the dogs hunted him over and over. He is now no longer with us but its so important to remember this and these individuals. And the most scary one was when a survivor woman once told us that the way she sees the world now, another second world war could happen again at any time. We think, nee its old, in today’s day and age…. but she kept saying at speeches and just to us who visited her, I am telling you, the way the world is thinking, going, forgetting, it can happen again!!!!!!!!!! the chills you get from that when you have watched shindlers list movie that gave me nightmares for months just seeing it! can we imagen what the people that survived this must feel like every day!
