VIDEO: About a hundred children and parents gathered yesterday at the Toys for Thought toy store to watch a Yomega Yo Yo Champion show off his extraordinary yo yo talents.
The champion, who taught the children dozens of new yo yo tricks and about yo yo maintenance, was sent by the yo yo company to perform at the toy store because of the large quantity of the company’s yo yos sold at that location, the store’s management said. Approximately 2,000 yo yo were sold at the store since the beginning of this year they said.

So nice to let our kids have a healthy outlet such as yo yo, it builds hand eye coordination and keeps them out of trouble, keep up the good work!!
Am I the only parent who was bothered by the cost of these yo-yos? I’m not that old, only 34 – who could ever imagine spending 30 bucks (!!) on a yo-yo! And how can you tell your kids no when all of their friends have it! Who starts all these new fads and crazes?
Best part was when he asked who knew Darth Vader & just about no one raised their hand.
He then asked who heard of Star Wars. Same response!
He was in total shock.

I am personally a yoyo player too, and I know $30 for a yoyo sounds too much. The thing is there are plenty under $10 yoyos for new players or for people who are just looking for fun. In yoyo industry, $30 is considered cheap for a metal yoyo, yes metal. Plastics mostly ranged from $3 to $40 and metals are around $20 to $190 and some even higher (these priced yoyos are usually used by enthusiast like me). This is so because metal yoyos are precision made mostly with airplane grade aluminium and that process alone is time consuming, not to mention anodizing, marketing cost, sponsoring, etc.
