PHOTO: A cabin with in Camp Simcha burnt down over Shabbos, but thankfully everyone made it out on time, TLS has learned. The fire in the double bunk-house started at about 6 a.m., a staff member says, and the children were immediately evacuated.
The fire, believed to be electrical related, completely destroyed the cabin and the childrens’ items, the staff member says.

Oy Vey
In such a special place I’m sure they’ll find a way to get through this. Maybe someone can set up a special donation page (or Chai Lifeline can make a page on their website) to help get this cabin back up at no extra cost to this most amazing establishment!
Chazak! Chazak!
thats so sad but bh that nobody was hurt .belonging can be repalced
It will get up at no extra charge they are fully insured and by next summer it will be back up!!

#4 Anonymous – your post is ridiculous.
Kol Hakavod to the counselors who acted so quickly and got their campers out of the bunkhouse safely. These amazing young women who volunteer their free time to give these young children a summer they wont forget are true heroes.
Curious, how did the fire start ?
Why is this Lakewood news?
#4 your comment is terrible. The money raised from the bike ride to help even more children. It would be a shame to use that when the generous support would gladly help to rebuild.
#4 your comment is terrible. The money raised goes into the budget so that can reach out & help even more children & their families. It would be a shame to have to spend that much needed resources to replace a bunk when I’m sure the wonderful supporters would gladly step up.
There was a laundry room with 2 washers and 2 dryers behind the bunk. It is believed to have been an electrical fire from the laundry room.
why u mixing few things together
1 yes i do agree that insurance will cover this and there is no need for campaigning
