  1. #1 says: “Time to hire more officers.”

thanks but no-thanks. our police-state is large enough, with the highest paid officers in the nation. anymore, and we’ll be shining their shoes and handing over our paychecks in full.
what we need is a society that can take care of itself, versus growing more & more reliant upon the government taking care of us from cradle to grave.

  2. Hey number 3 society isn’t obviously taking care of themselves. Just look at the news in lakewood and the rest of the state. Police are underpaid to risk their lives if you ask me. Other professions make wayyyy more money doing wayyyyyy less!!!!! LPD has my vote to hire more

  3. “society isn’t obviously taking care of themselves. Just look at the news in lakewood”
-you’re absolutely right, society isn’t taking care of themselves. adding more police, laws, rules, regulations, warning labels, etc = WONT SOLVE ANYTHING. But it will bankrupt an already fragile economic system. being stupid isn’t illegal, nor will outlawing being stupid work.

“Police are underpaid to risk their lives if you ask me. Other professions make wayyyy more money doing wayyyyyy less!!!!!”
-oh yea? really? tell me, ex-military that cops are underpaid to risk their lives, and how other professions make less. DOES A SOLDIER’S PAY AT WAR, RING A BELL? Show me an E1 – E4 soldier currently active making more than $30,000-$50,000…. ill be here waiting.

  4. #3 you are way off. Just like #4 says to look at this site and tell me that they dont need more officers. LPD has my vote also. Well said #1.

  5. Silly me, I thought it was just a social gathering, with friends, neighbors, enjoying some interesting topics and some BBQ. We thought the kids would actually enjoy meeting some police and seeing some of their tools. Not everything has to be a political statement? We’re talking a BBQ with some kiddie rides and just enjoying the park. Fun Busters stay away then! Your not wanted!
