VIDEOS: Hundreds Join Yehuda Green for First Day of Slichos

VIDEO 1, VIDEO 2, VIDEO 3: In what is possibly from the most unique Minyanim for Slichos worldwide, hundreds this morning took part in a heartwarming Carlebach-style Slichos lead by singer and composer Yehuda Green.

The event, accompanied by several musicians – including from Lakewood- took place at the West Side Institutional Synagogue in Manhattan, and lasted several hours.

The experience was an uplifitng one for many, as evident from the video.

  1. Everybody to their own this is a lot better then coming to Selichos and just sitting thru a dreary one hour long selichos at least they enjoyed it and hopefully accomplished something Spiritually
    How about we try to start off this year not judging everybody and minding our own business

  2. #5 ur 100% right, I am disgusted when I hear my chasidesher friends here in Lakewood refer to litvishe in a condescending way and vice versa. I am chasidesh and respect every frum jew and don’t consider myself superior than litvesher people.

  3. dear number two they have a mechitza it is not standard for what you and I might expect HOWEVER it is there and conforms to basic Halacha.

I was there last night , it’s the first time in my life that I was dancing at shlichot , when the Hashuvainu was recited the song was I am sure piercing to the high heavens , I had tears rolling down my cheeks when the kehila was singing Hashuvainu Hashem Ailecha . Oh Hashem Am yisroel im erets yisroel is in a sakunah I am sure that you have heard the cries and you will send the redeemer in our lifetime

  5. I am attending already for the third year shlicoss , The hashuvanu hashem aleichu venushiva ,,, this year was above and above all that I have ever heard in all the years . It was so powerfull the whole kehila was above the ground , it was electric you just couldnt stand still and not dance when the hashuvanu was recited, Hashem was listening because we all had tears, some of my freinds were really really crying at hashuvainu hashem aleichu, the whole aron hakodesh was shaking , what a powerfull song, may all of klal yisroel have a keshiva vechasima tova
