VIDEO: For the second year in a row, a Lakewood High School athlete has signed a National Letter of Intent to further his education and pursue his athletic career.
In a crowded room of fellow students, coaches and staff, Lakewood High School Senior Maurice Diawara signed a National Letter of Intent to play NCAA Division I Football at Wagner University, Staten Island, New York.
Maurice, or “Mo”, attributed his success to his hard work and dedication both on the field and in the classroom. He has only been playing football for about two years, his coach announced at today’s press conference at the High School.
Maurice says he chose the Wagner University because a friend who attends the university welcomed him and made him feel at home.
Last year, football athlete Tyrice Beverette signed a National Letter of Intent with Stony Brook University. [TLS]

Mo way to go! See you in Super Bowl 49. Routing for u
Congrats! Keep workin hard and you’ll reap the rewards!
This is just another sign the public schools benefited from the previous board determination to make Lakewood’s schools a better place for all children.
In my opinion a strong public school system brings quality, value to Lakewood and most of all keeps kids out of gangs.
Lets hope the new board does not cut programs for the future.
