A Florida man wanted by the FBI was captured in Lakewood last night. At approx 11pm Officer Geno Messer observed a vehicle run a stop sign and continue to drive in an erratic manor.
As a result of the infractions a motor vehicle stop was conducted in the area of Woodlake Country Club on New Hampshire Avenue.
During the stop, a front seat passenger identified himself as an individual whom Officer Messer was already familiar with. As a result of providing a fictitious name he was arrested and transported to Lakewood Headquarters.
“Once there, the unidentified male refused to provide information regarding his identity,” says Dsgt. Greg Staffordsmith. “He was then fingerprinted via the use of our LiveScan Fingerprinting System. This system will compare prints taken to those already in a National database and can reveal the true identity of someone within minutes.”
As a result, the male subject was identified as 28 year old Quentin K Tracy of Miami-Dade County Florida.
Further investigation revealed that Mr. Tracy was wanted by the FBI for numerous Drug and Weapons offense charges, stemming from an 8 person indictment this past January.
To date, Tracy was they only member of the drug traffickers who had not been arrested. He is facing up to 26 years in prison. Tracey was lodged in the OCJ, awaiting extradition. [TLS]
God job LPD!
Another lpd great job !! Thank lpd for protecting me and my family. & our entire community !!
Good job Geno, keep it up LPD, first a bank robber now a fugitive. GREAT JOB!!!
We all are very grateful for the police in Lakewood. I hope all of my friends and neighbors are aware of the profesionalism and hard work that the Lakewood police perform their jobs.
I had some crime against my property in a diferent municipality the police were so non chalant about the whole issue…
Where are all the haters claiming LPD is only busy giving out traffic tickets instead of protecting u from criminals?
Can someone explain this sentence? “During the stop, a front seat passenger identified himself as an individual whom Officer Messer was already familiar with. “
WOW!! Awesome job!!
Officer Geno Messer, thank you for keeping our beautiful town beautiful!
Where are the complaints about the LPD pulling over cars and giving out tickets? It’s called good police work. Great job Officer Messer!
BRAVO GENO and all jersey cops BRAVO Lakewood
LPD does it again.
Unsung Heros.
Thank you.
Alan: I believe the article is saying that he gave a name to the cop and the cop new someone else by that name so he knew the individual had to be someone else.
