Florida Man Wanted by the FBI Captured by Lakewood Police after Running Stop Sign

fbi tlsA Florida man wanted by the FBI was captured in Lakewood last night. At approx 11pm Officer Geno Messer observed a vehicle run a stop sign and continue to drive in an erratic manor.

As a result of the infractions a motor vehicle stop was conducted in the area of Woodlake Country Club on New Hampshire Avenue.

During the stop, a front seat passenger identified himself as an individual whom Officer Messer was already familiar with. As a result of providing a fictitious name he was arrested and transported to Lakewood Headquarters.

“Once there, the unidentified male refused to provide information regarding his identity,” says Dsgt. Greg Staffordsmith. “He was then fingerprinted via the use of our LiveScan Fingerprinting System. This system will compare prints taken to those already in a National database and can reveal the true identity of someone within minutes.”

As a result, the male subject was identified as 28 year old Quentin K Tracy of Miami-Dade County Florida.

Further investigation revealed that Mr. Tracy was wanted by the FBI for numerous Drug and Weapons offense charges, stemming from an 8 person indictment this past January.

To date, Tracy was they only member of the drug traffickers who had not been arrested. He is facing up to 26 years in prison. Tracey was lodged in the OCJ, awaiting extradition. [TLS]

  2. Can someone explain this sentence? “During the stop, a front seat passenger identified himself as an individual whom Officer Messer was already familiar with. “

  3. Where are the complaints about the LPD pulling over cars and giving out tickets? It’s called good police work. Great job Officer Messer!

  4. Alan: I believe the article is saying that he gave a name to the cop and the cop new someone else by that name so he knew the individual had to be someone else.

  5.
