Lakewood Hatzolah today thanked the Howell Police Department for their assistance and professionalism as they delivered a baby on the Interstate 195.
At around 12:30 PM today, Lakewood Hatzolah received a call regarding a Lakewood woman who was giving birth en-route to the hospital.
Upon arrival, Lakewood Hatzolah members were greeted by several Howell Police officers who immediately began securing the scene along the busy interstate, and assisted in whatever way they could to ensure the family received the utmost care, officials tell TLS.
“The Hatzolah members greatly appreciate the assistance provided by the police officers keeping the scene safe from passing traffic, and helping move the mother and new baby from the car to the ambulance on the busy highway,” says Hatzolah Captain and Emergency Services liaison Meir Lichtenstein.
The mother and baby were transported by Hatzolah to the hospital for further care.

Get used to it folks! Without Kimball taking births there will be many who won’t make it to other hospitals!
Curious to know if it was a boy – assuming it was and with a bris on Purim it would be nice to invite those Howell police officers to the bris and have them stick around after to soak in some of the Purim atmosphere.
Then again it may have been a girl..
How in the world is it possible that the town with probably the top birthrate in the country does not have a viable hospital for delivering babies??? What is going on here? Anyone? Askanim? Politicians? We are so busy having every shtus passed into law here and we can’t work this out??
There is no good hospital s around, because most patients are either on JerseyCare or Medicaid, so they basically lose money on every patient. No hospital can survive without a large core of well insured patients.
Thank you state troppers! G-d bless you and your familys b
There is brick hospital which is pretty close by.
To Ty, thank the Howell officers not the state troopers…
Brick hospital is close and a great place to deliver!
First it was “Get Your Kicks On Route 66”; now it could be “I Arrived On The 195”
wow Howell cops do more than give tickets
I love the Howell cops. They do a great job. And, even if they pull u over, many times they wont issue a summons. They’ll just give u a stern warning. And a homework assignment to write 100 times: I will not speed on Squankum Road. Great job, guys !!
Well if it’s a girl they can call her…. CHEVY (Shevy)
and if it’s a boy…. NISSAN
This is about business. If someone feels they could make money they would invest in equipment & good staff to open a birthing center. Obviously no one feels that way. Jersey care May have something to do with that which again boils down to government.
We use Brick and love it!!
How about establishing a state of the art birthing center with a NICU????
Here’s another for Ocean Count Med. Ctr of Brick! Great hospital, quite maternity ward
I many brooklyn nieghboorhoods the travel is almost the same. If one chooses to live deep in flatbush yet delivers in Miamondies, it can easily take him over a half hour to get there during the day. And thats only if you choose maimondies. If you choose Methodist or NYU its farther bthan Monmouth and surley Jersey Shore
