VIDEO & PHOTOS: Hagaon Rav Dovid Feinstein Inspects Possible Parah Adumah

r dovidThe Parah Adumah-possible, first reported about by TLS in January, received a prestigious visit on Tuesday from Hagaon Rav Dovid Feinstein Shlita, son of Hagaon Rav Moshe Feinstein Zatzal and Rosh Yeshivah of MTJ.

Rav Feinstein, who made the special trip from New York to see the rare calf, was visibly impressed with the finding, though refrained from stating his opinion as to the status and possibility of the cow actually being an eligible candidate for the Parah Adumah – a Red Heifer.

The cow is owned by Herb Celler, a local Jewish businessman and strong supporter of several local charities.

“Maybe you’ll be Zoiche when Moshiach will come,” Rav Feinstein told Mr. Celler.

Celler says since the report of this cow emerged, the cow has gained international attention, and has attracted approximately 30,000 visitors from around the tri-state area and beyond.

  1. I love this comments, “she’s not really red” or “a cow with horns?!” When a Gadol BeIsroel is visiting obviously because she iS a possible Parah Adumah.

  2. Both male and female cows are born with horns (except polled breeds). Sometimes the farmer has the veterinarian remove the horns. A male is called a “bull,” and a female is called a “cow.”

  3. Rabbi Feinstein did not make a special trip from New York to see the cow.
He came to town for a parlor meeting to raise money for a yeshiva.
While he was in Lakewood he stopped by.

  4. To anon
R Dovid didn’t stop by your house even though he was in Lakewood :-))
He was very interested in seeing the the Parah Aduma
