The power of the Yarmulka: Jackson woman insists on paying for Frum man’s coffee

By T.H. Standing in line at a local Wawa, a Frum resident waiting to pay for his coffee hears a woman tell the cashier she wants to pay for his coffee.

When the bewildered man turned around, the woman insisted she’s paying for it.

After granting her wish, the man wanted an explanation for the woman’s generosity.

The Jackson woman explained, she had a family member at a local outpatient facility, and the family member was shown tremendous care by a Frum man – and she mentioned his name. Yet, whenever she offered him a gift to show her appreciation, he declined it.

“So this morning, when she spotted a man with a Yarmulka, she figured she had an opportunity to show her appreciation,” the man relayed to TLS.

Wanting to give over the regards to this anonymous employee, the recipient of the coffee did his research, and tracked down the employee. It turns out he works for a Frum outpatient center, Behavioral Crossroads.

The coffee recipient picked up the phone and called the home of this employee, sharing the Kiddush Hashem with this employee’s wife.

~~~~~
This Frum employee not only showed he understood the Achrayus of wearing a Yarmulka, but understood the power and everlasting impression it could make – months later, and miles away.
  1. Just a nice story I wanted to share. I was in a local nail place before pesach and one of the employees told me that she is so impressed with the Jews. Sometimes people come in and use their services and either forget to pay and don’t bother coming back or sneak out without paying. She said she never ever had that with any of the orthodox women. She even had a lady forget to pay and call her up to pay her and she said “next time u can pay” and the lady said “no I don’t want to mistakenly forget”.
    She was amazed!!! Such a Kiddush Hashem!
  2. Very inspirational story, we never know how many miles our actions can travel and how far they can spread!
    I happen to know the frum man who is a Social Worker in Behavioral Crossroads and it fits the picture. Hatzlocha further to you and Behavioral Crossroads in their Avodas Hakodesh!
