Q: Is Online Marketing currently a lucrative field to enter?
A: There is a lot of opportunity for personal development within the field of online marketing. Also, knowing online marketing offers you the opportunity of understanding online commerce which can be very beneficial for online business owners.
Q: Please tell us about your current position?
A: I am the head of the PPC department at Optimal Targeting. PPC is the way for businesses to pay their way to the top of Google searches and to get traffic to their websites.
We have a number of people working in the department. I’m in charge of ensuring that all the accounts are running properly, onboarding new clients, and ensuring that the clients remain happy.
Q: How did the PCS course prepare you?
A: The strong knowledge that I gained in the course helped me get my position. Because I had taken this course, my boss was confident with my ability.
The PCS Online Marketing Course gave me the ability to really hit the ground running. There is a lot of complicated details about the way the programs run. I came to my position with a thorough knowledge that allowed me to quickly adapt to the field.
Q: For whom would you recommend this course?
A: Online Marketing has two segments. It is therefore a good fit for more than one personality type. There is the data driven, very analytical aspect (PPC) and then there is the more creative aspect (such as SEO and Social).
Both aspects share a common denominator: You have to ben inquisitive and love learning. There are so many new ideas out there. In order to enter this field, you have to enjoy learning new concepts and be willing to adapt.
Q: Why is it important to receive proper training from industry experts before entering this field?
A: It is a constantly evolving industry. The people that have been there and done that can tell you what works, what doesn’t work, what you can ignore, and what is truly important. Since there is so much trial and error involved in this field, it is important to learn from someone who has already been there and tried everything.
If you learn the information properly, you’ll have a much better chance at success.
