  1. We were there. The Planning Board seemed to have a lot of questions, and no clear answers were forthcoming from the planning consultant. This was the right outcome given the circumstances as we observed them.

  2. The best part is, when you have people who scream that there’s nowhere to buy in Lakewood anymore, yet they scream that the town shouldn’t allow more homes for them to live in….some people you’ll just never satisfy…sad but true.

  3. Thousands of people are moving into town. They need a place to live. And face it, the town is a city and those few hundred homes won’t make it or break it anymore. Even the people who moved out to Jackson and TR are working in Lakewood anyway, so the congestion won’t get any better anytime soon.

  4. To the people who don’t like it (and some don’t like it because it’s an ‘in thing’ to just not like everything in life). Can I ask you a question? Where exactly do you expect people to live if they want to live in Lakewood? Or are you going to say the township should deny them a place to live? What about if it was your son who wanted to move here? Exactly what I thought. And btw, it inly makes sense that if the town will be building anyway, to do it in a smarter way. So yes, it makes plenty sense. And the professionals involved know a tad more that you regarding planning. Just screaming “omg there will be traffic” isn’t too smart an argument.

    • Its called supply and demand. If you feel the need to have your son live in lakewood, pay the price. By continuing to build more and more homes, the current home values will only go down. Its terrible for the economy.
Perhaps the government should just print more money and give it to everybody, basically is what you are saying.

  5. Mr yak k you are 100% right the point is lakewood is at a max and the more they build the more people will suffer,it would be beautiful for everyone to live here but there’s simply no room !!!

  6. Are people connected to the developers posting pro high density comments?
There needs to be some balance between the towns infrastructure & future development, as of now us citizens are suffering.

    • I couldn’t agree more! I do not know anyone who wants more building except from the people making a killing on the building!
ENOUGH!! Where is the town leaders who I elected who were supposed to make laws to stop the building!

  7. Zusman: yes new Jewish areas are starting. It’s called Tom’s River, Jackson and Howell. Pioneers did very well with real estate there.

  8. No one with 2 eyes can say build who cares… do you see what’s going on? Central, hope chapel, miller, rt 9, oak st, pine st, James st, cross, pluys many more backed up many time throughout the day!! How can anyone say just build who cares!! When and if there is widening of our streets and another north – south corrider is opened and traffic and quality of life is improved then we can build…to just say lakewood is growing there’s no stopping it is total nonsense..dont we have a say in how lakewood should grow?? Glad that some planning members did the responsible thing and starting asking some real questions (that the public have voiced throughout public input) and we are seeing some positive changes

  9. To Steve: “By continuing to build more and more homes, the current home values will only go down.“

But is there anyone who is going to sell and lose money? Someone already said that there’s a huge demand.

And it’s not just thousands moving in. It’s also thousands growing up and needing their own place.

  10. How exactly do they plan on changing places that are high density to low-density if there’s already homes there. I’m not sure how that works
