Jackson Shul application goes in front of Planning Board [UPDATE – PASSED UNANIMOUSLY]

The Jackson Planning Board this evening will hear an application for a Shul in the Township.Kolel Shas Yiden applied to the Jackson Township Planning Board for preliminary and final major site plan for a conditional use in the RG-2 Regional Growth Zone to construct a two-story Shul containing 21,165 square feet, on a 3.75 acre piece of land located on the westerly side of East Veterans Highway south of Grand Blvd.

A house of worship is a conditional use and the application meets all of its conditions, cording to the application.

There are approximately 500 Frum families living in Jackson today.

  1. While an approval will be a huge step in the right direction for the orthodox community in Jackson, this project is quite far from the current neighborhoods that the hidden currently reside in.
