Reader-submitted: Here’s what Verizon told me to do

In regards to a post I’ve seen on The Lakewood Scoop, I have contacted Verizon due to experiencing the same issues and I wanted to share with you the details so it can be made public and perhaps help the community.

I spoke with a Verizon Representative today to complain about the slowdown in data speed, I mentioned that there are a lot of people complaining. Here is what he told me to tell everyone that is having this issue to do.

Please call Verizon and create a NRB (Network Repair Bureau) Ticket. Once there are a lot of NRB tickets in a given area Verizon consolidates them into one Master Ticket, and that is when they dive into the issue and fix it.

So I encourage everyone to call Verizon simply by dialing 611 from your Verizon cell phone and open a NRB ticket.

Thanks.

  1. I work at the NRB. Please call customer care at 611 and open a ticket for the NRB. I recommend when you have a problem call choppy audio, dropped call or whatever issue dial #832/send. You will hear a recording which you NEED NOT listen to. But if I see the #832 I know the previous call is a problem call. Be specific to what the issue is it a VOICE or DATA issue. Is it at a specific address or in multiple locations?

  2. Called again spoke to somebody in India again. Was promised it will be fixed the same day. And so far its not working, Can somebody please advise me what to do, And is there a number where i can reach somebody here in the States. Thank you in advance ,

  3. I have been having the same problem with data speed for months and Verizon usually gives me some free data but the real issue is they are still charging for high speed 4G data while your data is slower by far then other carriers 3G data and the slow speed data is being subtracted from your high speed usage is this even legal for them to do? This is the reason that I have been seriously considering leaving Verizon after a little more than 5yrIffeel I am being ripped off !
Thanks for letting letting me get this out and I hope there are many more unhappy customers who will speak up publicly maybe we can be compensated for the data we’ve wrongly be charged for!

  5. To Bubbie Zelda, if you get someone from India you can tell them you want an American. If you are nasty enough you’ll get one pretty quick
