Lakewood High School students today joined the National Walkout, and took to the streets to fight gun violence, and honor those killed in Parkland.
In a peacful walkout, the students left the Lakewood High School at 10 AM, and for the 17 minutes held a rally talking about the gun violence issue in the United States, and how politicians have let their constituents down.
After a few short speeches, 17 students read posters with the names of the 17 killed in Parkland, and then held a moments of silence.
The rally ended with chants “grades up guns down,” and “never forget never again.”
They did he right thing. I applaud them for their courage.
these people have no knowlegde of firearms.
This is fantastic. It’s upsetting that some schools are disciplining students for participating in the walk out. It’s important that their voices are heard, it’s their blood that is being spilled.
The only schools that are disciplining students are the ones which had threats of violence from students. If in fact students wish to protest school violence they should not be threatening violence.
What are you even trying to say?
I’m not “even trying to say” anything! I’m SAYING something! READ! I’m telling #2 not to be upset.
