DESTINATIONS: A Bein Hazmanim Vacation Guide from GreatFrumTrips & TLS – PART 1

Ahhhh, Summer! These are the days made of the fondest memories that we and our kids will treasure and speak about forever.  Make sure to to take the opportunity for making your own special family vacation memories before Elul is upon us and school starts up again.

As founders of GreatFrumTrips.com, this is the time of year when all day long, we get the question over and over, “Where should we go away to this year?”

For our fans and readers all over, we’ve put together this handy guide of great vacation destinations, and a quick description of what you can expect to find, see and do there from our own experience and research, as well as the approximate distance from Lakewood.

So as not to overwhelm our readership, we’ll include three great destinations with helpful links and more in this article.

Today, in conjunction with The Lakewood Scoop, we’ll focus on  within approximately 5-6 hours from Lakewood. A follow up article featuring closer destinations is planned for a future date as well, iy”H.

So where should you vacation this year?

Destination: White Mountains, New Hampshire

What’s There? The White Mountains of New Hampshire are a wonderful place to escape, explore and create unforgettable memories. Experience towering peaks, stunning scenery, some of the world’s best hiking, moose crossing signs, and lots more to see and do – you’ll feel like you’re a million miles away from everything!

Don’t Miss: Mount Washington Auto Road, Off Road ATV Rentals, Lost River Gorge, Gunstock Mountain Zipline Adventure, Cannon Mountain Aerial Tramway, Mountain Coaster at Cranmore Mountain, Franconia Notch Flume Gorge, Story Land Amusement Park, and a Moose Tour

Destination: Green Mountains, Vermont

What’s There? Closer than New Hampshire but still far out enough for a real summer getaway,  a trip to the cool mountains and crystal clear rivers and streams of Vermont is a great choice! The warmer months provide outdoor enthusiasts, like you, the opportunity to enjoy the exceptional recreation that Vermont is renowned for. In Vermont you will find hiking, mountain biking, kayaking, golf and much more

Don’t Miss: Appalachian Kayak Tours, Ziplining, Horseback Riding, Hiking, Mountain Biking, Road Biking, Fishing, Pick-Your-Own Farms and more! Many ski areas offer summer adventure parks, ski lift rides, mountain coasters, alpine sliding and other adventures as well. A bit of research yields alot of fun to be had!

Destination: Blue Ridge Mountains, Shenanoah River Valley Virginia

What’s There? It’s funny but until I married a Baltimorian, I never even considered that there were mountains and natural green beauty to be explored anywhere but up North. How wrong I was! About as close to Lakewood as Vermont but in exact opposite directions, Skyline Drive in Virginia is a 120 mile long stretch of unfolding vistas that have to be seen to be believed!

Don’t Miss: A drive through Skyline Drive – with four entrances, at least one stretch will take your breath away, Ziplining Virginia Canopy Tours, Family Paintball and Lasertag, Mountain Biking Tours, Horseback Riding, Whitewater Rafting, this Unusual Zoo and Safari Tour, Luray Caverns Underground Cave Tours – not cheap but in our opinion a must!

Most of all, wherever you choose to go, have fun, relax, drive safely, and enjoy!
