Hi,
We have said for several years that we will support our 3G (EVDO) network at least through the end of the decade, and that continues to be the plan. Nothing has changed. Virtually all of our traffic is on our 4G LTE network.
We are actively working with our customers to help ensure any transition needs are addressed as early as possible. The best experience for customers is on a 4G device. We offer 4G flip phones. As we continue to invest in our networks, including more than $5.4 billion in New Jersey since 2015, our spending is focused on 4G and laying the groundwork for 5G.
Our customers expect to be able to use their phones as they travel throughout the country. Maintaining a network technology in a single location wouldn’t deliver that experience.
Have a good Shabbos
David Weissmann

Thank you David and the entire Verizon team for reaching out to the Lakewood community. You make a very strong point about being able to use your phone across the country and not just in one town.
I would ask you if its possible for Verizon to come up with a brand new 4G Kosher Flip phone. In Israel the providers all offer such a service to their orthodox jewish customers. I believe you would get many customers customers from AT&T and Sprint to switch over to Verizon if you offered a dependable Kosher phone.
Thank you again for listening!
So why is service so terrible in Lakewood the last few weeks?
You need a 4G flip phone. And they can be filtered like a kosher phone
Having some trouble understanding the response. Does that mean they’re going to continue updating the 3G networks and fixing 3G problems till 2020, or does it mean that they’re just letting it ride out till 2020 and then they’re stopping it entirely?
Well why dose it have to be flip? Maybe slider or bar and if the problem is smart whats the difference if its flip smart
Verizon has committed to keeping 3G going till 2020, it is 2018. Please provide proper upkeep for our towers. And BTW my 4G flip phones is also dropping calls lately because Verizon doesn’t seem to care enough to fix their towers.
I work in downtown Lakewood 10 hours a day 5 days a week and don’t have any problems with dropped calls on Verizon.
