Question:
Dear Mayor,
Thank you for this opportunity.
At this time of year, we have even harder times parking our cars, which is difficult enough all year round.
I was wondering if you would consider this idea.
If every year, according to the year (odd or even) the leaves should be piled on that side of the road.
It would save two ways. 1- there will be parking on one whole side of the road, and 2- it would be easier for collection as they would only have to go down one side of the road.
As for the odd and even, I just think that it is fair that way and no one can complain that it takes up their side every autumn.

Hi Etty,
Thanks for your suggestion. I will forward it on to our Public Works Director. We are hoping that leaf pickup will be streamlined this year with the addition of our vacuum truck and the addition of a second shift at Public Works which will increase the number of hours we can pick up.
While we are on the subject of leaves, I want to remind everyone not to park their cars on top of a leaf pile. There have already been several fires resulting from this.

Maybe you should only be aloud to put your leaves on the street in front of your house the week of pick up in your area. Many times leaves sit in front of someones house for a few weeks before they get picked up!!!
Soon there won’t be any trees left. No need for leaf clean up.
its bad enough we spend money on a Gardner to blow the leaves to a pile or do it ourselves for hours. For it to sit for weeks is outrageous. It just blows back on the yards of people and we have to redo it. Besides the fact no parking and people tend to park on top of it. Maybe we can introduce Leaf bags and just pile those up?
