  1. With tears in my eyes …..
    That kid mentioned misaskim
I cant help but be amazed by what they do … i watched them all week helping out at the shiva with such respect and care. What amazing volunteers

  2. It just means “kiriat” which means keria – ‘to read’. Custom is in many words to drop the kuf.

Syrians have the custom to read sefer tehilim for the niftar on or before the shiva.

  3. An Arayat is the reading of sefer tehillim, hespedim followed by making berachot l’iluy neshama. This is done during shiva, at the sheloshim and at the end of aveilut

  4. MisAskim volunteers are amazing!
Watching them not only help out in the house with such respect and compassion, but vacuuming and folding chairs at 11 at night gave me chills.
