BREAKING: Item believed to be knife prompts brief lockdown at Oak Street School in Lakewood

An item students believed was a knife prompted a lockdown at the Oak Street School in Lakewood, officials say.

At around 12 Noon today, police received a call that security had locked down the Oak Street School after students reported about another student who possibly had a knife in his backpack, officials confirmed.

A school official told TLS the student was located, and the item turned out to be another metal object.

The school lockdown was lifted after approximately six minutes.
