  • No surprise :( says:

That is a terribly dangerous intersection; its insane that they put a crossing guard there! It needs a TRAFFIC LIGHT, not a crossing guard! I wont tell you how many vehicle FLIPS have gone on there in the last 3 months… I hope the hard-working crossing guard will be okay, but I hope they don’t send anyone instead. Not because its not necessary, but because it needs a light, not a person standing in the middle of the nine!

    • Responder says:

@no surprise can’t agree anymore with regards to a traffic light at that intersection. Problem is Lakewood township is dragging its feet with regard to pedestrian safety including the students. Maybe this should be a wake up call. Also it looked like the ambulance might have been traveling a little to fast for comfort….just saying

  • Matt says:

@no surprise, the crossing guard was hit on the sidewalk so for all intents and purposes it could have been any pedestrian. Not arguing with your other comments just bringing it up.

  • Bd says:

He wasn’t standing in middle.of the 9. He was safely on the sidewalk. This could have been any pedestrian!!!!

  • bob says:

Firstly we wish the crossing guard well.
Secondly, it seems the ambulance didn’t stop in time, which is why he had to swerve.

  • joe says:

I hope he has a speedy and complete recovery.
I see him all the time and he is very dedicated to his job.

  • Fishel says:

May you have a speedy recovery, he is a wonderful crossing guard, stands there for hours and always in a pleasant mood

  • Wondering says:

    Which intersection ?

  • Dovid says:

That crossing guard asking the others in town is a great guy!
I hope and pray for his speedy recovery.

  • Shamai says:

This a state road. I’m sure they state needs to approve a traffic light. Don’t always blame the township.

  • Totty says:

    Prayers for a speedy recovery.
BTW I hope they found another driver to transport him…

  • Route9 Driver says:

If you haven’t noticed that is Route 9 – a state road if anyone is dragging their feet it’s the state. You just can’t pop a traffic light up there has to be u derground electric installed and lights have to be made its a process takes about a year to do it start to finish. But you guys will still not be happy so keep comply

  • LivesLocal says:

While it appears the ambulance was following the vehicle in front of it too closely, it does seem as if the vehicle in front of the ambulance may have stopped suddenly and without signaling a turn. We all see it is an extremely busy intersection from all directions.
I pass by frequently as a Jackson resident and agree a traffic light is needed. Prayers for the gentleman who was injured and a speedy recovery.
