During my investigations into happenings in Jackson’s dispute with Jackson Jewish residents over eiruvs, I came across a worrisome set of documents which very strongly suggests that Jackson’s mayor Mark Reina was stringing along his Jewish constituents, while planning harsh treatment regarding their religious rights after the recent elections.
Newly discovered emails show that while Jackson’s Township Council President Rob Nixon was telling Jewish residents that he and other top-level Jackson politicians were truly interested in working out a deal agreeable to both sides regarding accommodating eiruvs and shuls, secretly, behind closed doors, Jackson’s mayor Reina was singing a very different tune.
There are multiple emails which demonstrate near certain duplicity of Reina and most likely of Rob Nixon. I will be reporting on several of them in the coming days. But in one particularly shocking and disturbing email Reina promised harsh reaction to legitimate everyday basic Jewish needs, writing that it was time that Jackson took the “gloves off’ in regards to its local Jews and their requests for reasonable religious accommodation.
What those emails appear to show, is that Jackson’s negotiations with the Jewish community were conducted in bad faith, without any actual interest in reconciling their differences.
What honest mayor and council president would blatantly lie to their own constituents who are making reasonable requests to accommodate their religious beliefs? The matter at hand is a serious one that requires serious people conducting legitimate negotiations – not duplicitous, lying politicians. This is not a game.
As supervisor of Ocean County bridges, you would think that Jackson’s mayor Reina would want to build bridges, not tear them down.
As noted earlier, there will be further reporting on Reina’s emails in the days to come.
Everyone pls email the freeholders..Reina makes Nixon look good….PBA fire Nixon
..County fire Reina
Please file your petition on Change.org chng.it/tmpZPddgyx to ask UPenn and PBA to fire him from his positions. He doesnt represent values.
Gloves off….the judge will squash Reina and crew..he is a double sided liar
Rumor has it that hundreds of emails were leaked….wow the A.G. wil have a job to do…fyi email the freeholders and ask why they employee such a bigoted man freeholdervicari@co,ocean.nj.gov
He has the chutzpah to use the word “respectfully”. Disgusting. If I were the judge, I would have some fun with that.
Everyone saw R Avi with the new AG of US… I am sure this came up
Just out curiosity, say all this is true, what legitimate consequences can he face.
What’s the worst case scenario?
iN REAR CASES IF PROVEN THAT HE INTENTIONALLY VIOLATED CIVIL RIGHTS..HE CAN BE SUED PERSONALLY..SOURCES HAVE CONFIRMED THAT THIS MAY HAPPEN HERE
Game on. Gloves off , we are representing all Jackson residents, doesnt sound hateful to me?
I’m not getting this whole thing?
I’m with mark on his comment.
« We’re representing all jackson residents » – – what is everyone and the letter writer up in arms about?
Maybe he was reassuring Cippriani that even though he intends to work with the Jews she will still be involved. Maybe he meant gloves off with regard to the rabble rousers and that intends to represent the Jews as well as they are now Jackson residents too. Don’t get me wrong I think this guy is a fraud and is only out for himself but this email proves nothing!!!!
I guess we will see from the follow up emails what this email really means
Thank you Mayor Reina protect us from them
@ Ttisch:.
Do Jackson’s residents need protection from Jews, or do Jews need protection from Jackson residents?
The last comment from ttisch with an email address is a trap- do not email him/her

Excuse me Tina, would you kindly elaborate on what you mean by,”protect us from them”?
Who’s ‘them’ and what have ‘they’done that you would you need’protection’?
Can’t a eiruvs be placed around the borders of towns. This would still signify the wall. It would be a great compromise fo all and less arguments. And would probably use less material.
