PHOTO: Lakewood Fire Commissioners issue proclamation recognizing the service of Timothy C. Eckner

During their meeting on Monday, March 11, the Board of Fire Commissioners of Lakewood Fire District No.1 presented a Proclamation to the Eckner Family, in recognition of the dedicated service of Volunteer Firefighter Timothy C. Eckner, who died last year.

The members of Rescue Company No. 2 accepted the Proclamation on behalf of Firefighter Eckner’s wife Annemarie. Firefighter Eckner became a member of the Lakewood Fire Department on December 4, 1981, when he joined Rescue Company No. 2 – Station 65.

During his twenty-two-year tenure, Firefighter Eckner served proudly as both a Firefighter and Fire Officer within the Company. He held the office of President, Secretary, Lieutenant and Captain until he retired from the Department on March 3, 2003, when he retired with his wife to Florida.

“The Board of Fire Commissioners commends the devotion and valuable expertise of Firefighter Eckner and extends its sorrow and prayers to his family,” the Board said.

  1. I was fortunate and proud to have served with Timmy. He truly loved serving Rescue 2 and the citizens of Lakewood. He will never be forgotten .
