FIRST LOOK: Hatzolah of Central Jersey rolls out their new logo

Hatzolah of Central Jersey released their new logo today. The new logo features the star of life with a map of the state of New Jersey.

(Hatzolah of Central Jersey is the former Lakewood Hatzolah.)

The six branches of the instantly recognizable branched symbol of Emergency Medical Services represents one of six EMS functions. These functions are: Detection, Reporting, Response, On-Scene Care, Care in Transit, and Transfer to Definitive Care.

“The union of the six branches also evokes unity as all branches start at one common point and intersect with each other,” explained Shmuli Rosenberg of fwd/NYC, who is leading the rebranding effort.

Hatzolah’s mission is not only to provide the best emergency care and save lives, but to work united toward a common goal. Hatzolah is and has always been a unifying organization in our community. When confronted with life and death decisions, everyone put their own personal needs aside and unites, EMT to EMT, family, friends and many times strangers. Police and other emergency services unite – all to save a life.

“Combining the Star of Life and the State of New Jersey is the ultimate way to show Hatzolah of Central Jersey’s expanding role of bringing selflessness, professionalism and care to an expanding area and no matter what – putting the value of life above all else,” Rosenberg shared.

The colors are also significant. Blue is often associated with stability, trust, confidence, and faith. Red is an emotionally warm color that represent passion. The combination of these two colors combines all aspects of Hatzolah’s role, confidently providing stability to a chaotic situation with passion, warmth and care while always remembering that faith in Hashem is what really makes all the difference.

“We look forward to continuing our critical mission,” said Hatzolah’s administrator Motty Twerski, “our members are excited, proud and looking forward to adapting the new logo and name.”

  1. Wow – Deep explanations. It sounds like a lot of thought, time & effort went into the new logo & the rebranding effort. I would just suggest, however, not to spend too much time (and MONEY) on re-painting every ambulance & piece of equipment with the new logo, unless absolutely needed due to some law.
    Hatzolah Rocks !!

  2. Logo Shmogo !! – Who cares about the logo, it’s not like they have competition. The do excellent, amazing work & their volunteers are superbly dedicated, highly trained, insanely talented, kind-hearted & lightning fast individuals who respond to each call as if someone’s life depended on it.
    Wait !! It Does !!
As a bonus, they also treat all their patients like family.

  3. I find it very interesting that they changed the name to Hatzolah of Central Jersey when Lakewood and the surrounding towns are nowhere near Central Jersey! Central Jersey is much further up north. We are called the Jersey Shore (There already is a hatzolah of the Jersey shore). They should have come up with a name that actually makes sense.
