More than three decades ago, R’ Shia Beren and R’ Mayer Ribiat pioneered an EMS service called Hatzolah of Lakewood, which covered the Yeshiva campus and the surrounding residential area of Lakewood. Fielding only a few calls each week, this small organization has grown over the last 30 years into the bastion of Chesed with the help of Hashem. Hatzolah of Lakewood has saved countless lives and is now responding to over 30 calls a day, over 9000 calls a year, covering over 150 miles and 5 townships within 2 Counties.
Hatzolah of Lakewood has always been an integral part of the local community providing critical life-saving care.
“To reflect the expansion of Hatzolah of Lakewood’s coverage area, as we now also respond to calls in Toms River, Jackson, Brick and Howell. we will officially be changing our name to Hatzolah of Central Jersey,” Hatzolah Administrator R’ Motty Twerski told TLS.
“Hatzolah of Central Jersey will continue its mission of providing cutting edge medical care with state of the art medical equipment along with an optimal response time for all those in need,” says Twerski. “Hatzolah of Central Jersey also prides itself with maintaining working relationships with all local emergency services including EMS, Fire, Law Enforcement and Emergency Management.”
Hatzolah’s emergency and business office phone numbers will remain the same.
Mazel tov on the renaming, and may we be zoche to see the day when Hatzolah’s services are no longer needed, b’ezras Hashem.
kol hakavod to hatzalah may they have much success the “shinui hashem” should bring long healthy life to the members their families and all those they serve
@yechiel…it’s shinui hashaim not hashem…
What Hatzolah does day in and day out L’Tovas our communities is simply mind-blowing. And we are so proud they have been seemlessly been able to expand their service areas to encompass the neighborhoods in Toms River, Jackson & Howell. Kudos to R’ Avrom Waxman for rocking these campaigns and getting ambulances and new gear for all the units. Chazak V’ematz !!
What a wonderful idea. Thank you so much Rabbi Waxman & Rabbi Twerski for all you do for the klal. May Hashem bentch you both!
First of all completely agree with one and two. AMEIN. But like we say in Yidish men zol nischt badarfen [whoever doesnt understand it[ Get in touch with me and i will teach you Yidish] ] It is good to know that Hatzalah is here, Have a very good Shabbos everybody.
How do you like that, Reina? What do you think about this? Idiot.
Hatzolah of Central Jersey is a role model as to how an EMS organization is supposed to act. I have heard many people who are not members of the community say that if they are in need of emergency medical care, they would call Hatzolah! Medical expertise and professionalism at its best!
Cut the garbage. Give me a break. What’s the difference if it’s called shlemiel or shlemazel. Hatzolah does what it does regardless. Stop wasting your time.
Will other organizations follow? Tomchei Shabbos, Bikur Cholim, etc. Some people prefer giving “anyei ircha” but opening up separate branches is a waste of donors money. I think having one organization with an option of earmarking the money for a specific town would be a solution…
who really cares????bunch of nonsense! lets focus on important things!
