JUST IN: Police investigating alleged assault on Frum girl in Lakewood

A girl was allegedly assaulted in Lakewood this evening.

At around 11 PM, the 15-year-old girl was walking in the area of 7th Street and Princeton Avenue when a man on a bike allegedly grabbed her inappropriately, an LCSW coordinator tells TLS.

The girl screamed and ran, while the suspect fled on his bike, the coordinator said.

The incident was reportedly witnessed by a passerby who called LCSW, and gave a description of a suspect – which later matched the description given by the victim.

The incident is being investigated.

  1. Are you really blaming the victim?! That’s so insensitive, like it’s totally her fault, right?! It’s like really not nice to say such a thing.

  2. Not blaming the victim but still have to ask:
What is a 15 year old doing out at 11:00 at night?
No child, not a male or female, should be out walking at night, especially ALONE!

  3. My first thought was exactly what Linda is saying, I am not blaming the victim / More the parents a 15 yr old. [and especially a girl ] should not be walking 11 P. M. Even if she was with another girl its still not safe,

  4. Think about the times we live in, because it is generally unsafe to be out after dark no matter where you live. If you must walk after dark, the best advice is to walk with others and not alone. I hope this article will encourage everyone to learn to be prudent about walking alone after dark, especially young people who can be easily victimized.

  5. I too agree, a 15 year old girl should not be walking out alone at night. Glad she’s okay. Why would a parent allow her to walk at that hour!

  6. i know the victim personally. please dont blame her- all she did was walk home from a babysitting job-about a 5 min walk….
