  1. He wrote two seforim, called “Eitzos Vahadrachos”, the first one primarily based on correspondence he had with the Steipler. One was also just published in English by Feldheim.

  2. He was also the father of Mrs. Plout (Wolfson) and brother of Ronnie Greenwald z”l. These were brothers who worried for all of Klal Yisroel like they did for their own families.

  3. Je was, indeed, a great man. I spent a few summers with him in Monroe, NY. He had stories with gedolim which were amazing. And, ppl may not know, R’ Itche Meir is a Tzaddik in his own right.
    Yeho Zichro Boruch.

  4. Rabbi Yaakov Mordechai Greenwald z”l was the director and owner of Camp Kol-Ree-Nah for many, many years.
His other brother, besides Reb “Ronnie”, was Reb Sidney Greenwald, the main builder of Laniado Hospital.
A tremendous family and a tremendous loss.

    • Yes, Rabbi Golding. I don’t know which brother you are, but your family made Kol-Ree-Nah famous! (as in suki and DING).

I remember the hesped that Rabbi Greenwald zatzal gave on the Steipler zatzal in the shul. It was the last year of the glorious history of Camp Kol-Ree-Nah before it was sold to Shivtei Yisrael…

      Yehi Zichroi Boruch…

  5. He was very close to the Manchester Rosh Yeshiva ztzl. In fact he spent many summers in Zemmering Austria learning bechavrusah
with the Manchester Rosh Yeshiva ztzl. A masmid, a onov, a shpitz eidelkeit, A big oived , a Baal kishron. A very big loss to klall Yisroel.
R itche meir kibud ov And concerns for his dear father, is beyond for anyone to be able to express it in a proper way. Yehei zichroi boruch

  6. A huge tapmod chochom. Helped countless amount of people . A brilliant quiet man who was “roeh es hanolad”. He foresaw so many problems we encounter today but no one listened to him. We lost a great man.

  7. He was a great and brilliant doctor. . A talmid chacham whose bracha were mekuyam. He lived for others. The world is not the same without him. Zecher tzadIk levracha.

  8. Having been a counselor in Camp Kol Reena I recall how Rabbi Greenwald Z”L was makpid that not a single vehicle be visible on Shabbos on the camp grounds as all cars had to be moved off of the grounds to insure a pristine atposphere & aura of Shabbos in the camp. His dikduk of halacha & hashkafa were unparalleled & non compromising. Yehi Zichro Boruch.
