With programs in jeopardy, Lakewood Board or Education holds Nonpublic school consultation meeting (PHOTOS)

The Lakewood School District this morning held a Nonpublic Consultation Meeting for School administrators, parents/Guardians and staff.

The meeting, held at the High School, was to solicit input and feedback with respect to the RFP for Title I, Title IIA,TitleIII Professional Development, Title I Parental Involvement, Security and to discuss IDEA programs, in part, due to the anticipated loss of Lakewood Township Grant Funding.

Mayor Ray Coles said this was the first time the Township had to say no to the District, due to the Township’s own budgetary concerns.

  1. This such propaganda. The Cause of private schools potentially losing programs is not “due to loss of township grant funding” but rather due to the ineptness of the BOE!

  2. I don’t understand the purpose of this meeting, or what the expected outcomes would be…..Non Public volunteers for Public school programs? Just a guess…

  3. I was there .

    I know from insiders .

    STOP blaming Board .

It was made clear made clear that its NOT the Township’s obligation BUT that WE need there help ! hey were too nice to them – almost like he was defending them .

This is effecting ALL kids — no after school clubs for public which the State has said is not required ( Ridiculous ) too .

We need to UNITE and get ALL of our taxes we pay to help public and non public kids !
