8-hour scheduled water interruption in one section of Lakewood ahead of 3-day Yom Tov has residents outraged

Residents on the South side of the Lake are outraged that regular scheduled water maintenance will take place tomorrow, on Erev a three-day-Yom Tov.

Notices (pictured) have been placed on doors throughout the Caranetta Drive/Sunset Road area informing the residents of the plans for tomorrow.

“It goes without saying that it is an extremely busy and hectic day for all, with all the children home and cooking, showers and laundry taking place,” said one resident.

TLS has reached out to NJ American Water but could not get through to a representative for comment.

  1. Fridays in general would not be a brilliant idea. But the day before a 3 day holiday? That’s just utter craziness! There has to be a regular day when most people are at work and in school….

  2. Definitely feel bad and understand the enormous inconvenience, disaster .However just bare in mind we are in golus and goyim dont live and run schedules based on orthodox jewish calendars ,certainly not if they were unaware of the holiday. we are in golus!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  3. a shame that all throughout this entire never-ending project there was little transparency from the water company/contractor’s end. Should have reached out to us better. Try calling the 800 number and you’ll be connected to an agent in a call center 2,000 miles away knows nothing about this project.
