Come join Green Meadows Therapy Center at their open house this Sunday, June 23rd!

[COMMUNICATED] Nestled just two minutes off Squankum Road is a pleasant and rustic farmhouse perched on 24 beautiful acres. Housed in this farmhouse is one of the most dynamic and extraordinary therapy centers in the United States. Run by

an outstanding team of professionals and home to over 50 animals including horses, miniature cows, llamas, dogs, donkeys, goats, donkeys, goats, sheep and many other animals.

Green Meadows Therapy Center works with children who are struggling to overcome a vast range of challenges. Some children have motor issues, others have extreme social anxiety. Children on the autistic spectrum desperately want to learn how to interact with their peers, as well as cope with many other difficulties they struggle with on a constant basis. Overall Green Meadows works with all sorts of children to help them overcome their specific challenges and thrive as individuals.

When a child hits a roadblock in their development, they need help. The simple reality is that the typical approaches to therapy do not work for all children. New approaches are necessary, and Green Meadows has worked to expand their range of techniques far beyond the standard modalities. From dance classes, to horse training, to art… they have an expansive range of activities to help connect with all children. These activities also act as crucial motivators to help them put in the required work and cooperation that will being about their success.

In general animal-assisted therapy involves social workers, mental health counselors, occupational therapists, and other trained therapists, who specifically involve the animal in the treatment. This type of work can be done with a wide range of animals, but two of the most commonly used animals are dogs (canine- assisted therapy) and horses (equine- assisted therapy).

Green Meadows Therapy Center is open all year round! They do not let weather stop them. They have a huge indoor riding arena that allows all of their activities to continue no matter what the weather may be. They have plenty of indoor facilities throughout their ranch to accommodate all services that are offered.

There is a strong bond between animals and people. Animals are accepting, non-threatening, and non-judgmental, making it easier for people to open up and connect. Since many children, teens, and adults enjoy working with animals, animal-assisted therapy can be particularly beneficial for individuals who are resistant to treatment, or have difficulty accessing their emotions or expressing themselves in other forms of therapy.

This Sunday join Green Meadows at their open house and talk with their Social Workers, Occupational Therapist, ABA Therapists, Mentors… and see how your child can benefit from their services. You will have a chance to check out their farm and your kids can have a fun time as well as there will be horseback riding, prizes, popcorn…

  1. This place is phenomenal!

My kids spirits were way up there for literally weeks after we were there. All they were able to talk about were the animals there for quite a bit of time.

Of course they want me to buy a dog for them now… 🙂
