Question: Hi,
I was wondering who is responsible for traffic control decisions in this town or is there a department to bring an issue up to, specifically regarding the traffic light on Cedarbridge and Clover, there is no turning signal and it is very much needed for turning left onto clover, I can sit there for 20 minutes at times waiting to get a chance for the left turn.
Thanks in advance.
Response from Mayor Coles:
We are waiting on the county to implement some changes there, which involve timing of the lights as well as other measures to get the cars moving.
Thanks

How much longer should we wait? Its been 3-4 years that this issues been brought up…. Is something really being done ?
All you need is a delayed green light for one side. that will allow the left-turning cars to get their turn.
When they were bilding new homes on RT88, why was not the street made wider so that there could be a left turning lane on RT88 to Clover?

Always wondering the same. No accountability from the officials who allowed those new house to be built so close to the intersection.
Always the same answers; if it’s a state or county issue, blame is placed. Local issues and accountability issues will be ignored.
Excellent point. The reason is because most through Streets in Lakewood are County or State roads, which leads to an even bigger question, why didn’t the town, planning boards etc.. build more roads prior to allowing all the cul-de-sac developments.
there is no communication between the traffic and building comities!! its a disgrace! if only the comities would work together we would have much less traffic!
Did you hear that the township will be closed for the summer? They need approval from the state and county to be open…
With the Township closed they can’t issue building permits, so this could be a good thing if only it were true.
the intersection of clover and rt 88 , had construction going on at the corners there, if they would only given a few feet from each corner, they could of made turning lanes and we wouldn’t have to deal with all the grid lock, every time a car want to turn. We need some intelligent minds working the roads for us!
