PHOTOS: Lakewood Rabbonim gather in support of Ahavas Tzedaka ahead of dinner

On Thursday evening, a special gathering of local rabbanim was held regarding the achrayus that all Lakewood kehillos have to support Ahavas Tzedaka.

A cross section of local rabbanim, as well as organization founder Dr. Reuven Shanik, attended the gathering, which was held in the home of Reb Ari Stern.

It was implored that rabbanim speak to their kehillos on Shabbos regarding the achrayus that Ahavas Tzedakah takes for the needs of families throughout our region – and the corresponding achrayus that all residents have to help the organization continue meeting the needs of our exponentially growing population.

Currently, Ahavas Tzedakah spends over $2 million a year to help nearly 800 needy local families on a weekly basis and/or prior to Succos and Pesach by providing generic debit cards for food and clothing. There are an additional over 100 families on the organization’s waiting list, desperately awaiting one or more form of its assistance programs.

This coming Shabbos be”H, in shul after shul, rabbanim will rally their mispallelim to join the broader kehillah to take achrayus on behalf of their friends, neighbors and relatives by attending Ahavas Tzedakah’s 9th annual evening, which will take place on Tuesday, July 23rd, at Ateres Chana Hall (Bais Faiga).

The program will be both inspiring and entertaining. Together, our beautiful kehillah will take achrayus to help Ahavas Tzedakah continue its vital work and promptly accommodate all the families on its waiting list be”H.
