SURVEILLANCE VIDEO: Watch Lakewood Police Officers hide and bust alleged bike thieves

Two alleged bike thieves were arrested this afternoon in Lakewood, and the arrests were caught on video.

After receiving reports of two bike thieves in the downtown area, plain-clothes officers were on the lookout for them.

A short time later, they were spotted heading down Route 9.

Officer pulled into a parking lot, hid behind vehicles, and waited for them to pass by. When they did, police arrested the pair and recovered the stolen bikes.

  1. Bike thefts will go down tremendously once the flea market closes this fall. Where do you think all the stolen goods are sold? The flea market & weekly front yard bike sales are most probably sourced from stolen goods.

  2. Stop Thief !! Said the policeman, and they did. Sadly, these guys will get a police record for stealing $75 bicycles. Maybe even jail time. It’s crazy!! And sad. Are our schools training these kids to be able to get a job in today’s job market ? You think those guys know how to send a normal email ? I doubt it.
